Redhill mains replacement

COVID-19 update

We are carrying out mains replacement work that can be carried out in a safe way, in line with the Government’s latest advice. The safety and wellbeing of our staff and our customers is of the utmost importance to us and we have been able to implement the necessary extra precautions to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Read more information about our response to COVID-19.

Redhill mains replacement programme

Starting in January 2021 we are investing in an important water mains renewal programme in Redhill, which will take place over the next couple of years.

The current water mains (some dating back to the 1890s) are no longer sufficient size and are beginning to reach the maximum operating capacity, due to the amount of new developments in the Redhill area.

The programme will involve laying approximately 1.5km of new main across Redhill, in a phased approach including: outside Quadrant House, Marketfield Way (beginning outside McDonalds and working south), Redhill High Street and Brighton Road. Each work site will require us to put traffic management systems in place and some may require temporary road closures to keep residents, motorists and our workforce safe. Information boards will be visible in the affected areas prior to the works being implemented.

This page will be regularly updated below as each new phase of the programme is started.
