SES Water partners with The Lucy Rayner Foundation

SES Water is proud to announce its partnership with The Lucy Rayner Foundation, an organisation dedicated to promoting mental health awareness and supporting young adults in Surrey. The collaboration comes as part of SES Water's ongoing commitment to the wellbeing and mental health of its colleagues and the community it serves.

Founder and CEO, Jenny Rayner, established the foundation following the tragic loss of her beloved daughter Lucy to suicide. Driven by personal experience, Jenny recognised the critical need to raise awareness about the symptoms of mental health struggles, seeking to provide support to those affected by these challenges.

Through this partnership, SES Water has donated £4,000 to the Foundation that will directly support up to 160 local people suffering with their mental health. The funds will also be used to develop comprehensive mental health programmes, conduct awareness campaigns, and establish support networks, with a specific focus on early detection and intervention in young adults.

SES Water gave its staff the opportunity to vote for a local organisation, which it would make a donation too and The Lucy Rayner Foundation was chosen. The Company operates a Mental Health First Aiders programme to provide support for any colleague who wants to discuss their mental health in a safe and confidential space. A team of 28 Mental Health First Aiders across the business, provides a ratio of one for every 12 colleagues.

Presenting the cheque, SES Water CEO Ian Cain said:

"We’re delighted to join forces with The Lucy Rayner Foundation and support their admirable mission. Mental health is an issue that affects individuals and families across all walks of life, and it is crucial we break the stigma and provide the necessary support. By partnering with The Lucy Rayner Foundation, we aim to make a meaningful impact, create awareness, and help individuals in Surrey find the resources and support they need."

Jenny Rayner, CEO & Founder of The Lucy Rayner Foundation, expressed gratitude for the collaboration, adding:

"I’m deeply grateful to SES Water for their generous contribution and support. Together, we will strive to make a positive difference in the lives of those battling depression and mental health challenges. With the backing of SES Water, we can amplify our efforts to raise awareness and offer hope to individuals who need it most."

SES Water, operates a scheme called “Give a Day” to enable colleagues to spend one day each year doing some form of charitable work. This will extend to The Lucy Rayner Foundation, The Company will also engage in various collaborative activities, including colleagues' workshops, mental health awareness campaigns, and volunteering opportunities. By fostering an open and supportive environment, SES Water aims to ensure its colleagues feel valued, empowered, and equipped with the knowledge and resources to address mental health challenges effectively.
