SES Water launches free virtual water efficiency checks for customers

07/07/2020

SES Water customers can now book a free virtual water efficiency consultation, giving them advice on water saving devices and identifying any leaks in their home, all without the expert technician having to enter the customer’s property.

As the nation continues to spend more time at home and is using more water than usual, SES Water is the first UK water company to provide free virtual home checks in partnership with Save Water Save Money - the largest global provider of water efficiency solutions.

Customers are automatically invited to book a session once they complete the Save Water Save Money’s ‘GetWaterFit’ calculator, hosted on SES Water’s website. Upon booking, the customer will choose a time to suit them and receives an invitation link to a 20 minute consultation using Zoom.

Dependent on what is identified during the consultation, the customer may be offered a follow-up appointment for a plumber to attend their property and fix any leaking appliances or install water saving devices, free of charge.

Across SES Water’s supply area each person uses around 150 litres a day which is higher than the UK average and the same as delivering 675 pints every day to each household. Furthermore, about a third of all water lost through leaks escapes from customers’ pipework and this scheme has been introduced by SES Water to further help its customers save water and find and fix any leaks.

Alison Murphy, Water Strategy Manager at SES Water, said: “We are pleased to be working with Save Water Save Money to provide this important new service for our customers. Virtual consultations provide a quick and convenient way to access our water efficiency advice from the comfort of your own home, while at the same time maintaining the safety and wellbeing of both staff and customers.”
