Pennon maintains commitment to championing gender equality in leadership roles
Pennon, the leading UK environmental infrastructure company, has again been ranked third in the prestigious FTSE Women Leaders Review 2025 report.
With International Women’s Day on Saturday 8 March, this marks another significant achievement in the Company’s ongoing commitment to championing diversity, inclusion, and gender equality in leadership roles.
The Review, which ranks the best performers within the entire FTSE 250 by their representation of women on boards and in executive management, continues to be a key measure of progress toward gender diversity in leadership. It again highlights Pennon as one of the select few FTSE-listed businesses where women on the Board outnumber their male counterparts.
Pennon’s exceptional standing in the 2025 report follows years of concerted effort to improve gender diversity at all levels of the organisation. The Company has implemented a wide range of initiatives, including leadership development programmes for women, mentorship opportunities, and an inclusive recruitment policy, all of which have contributed to its success in the rankings.
Adele Barker, Chief People Officer at Pennon, said:
“There's a reason why one of our internal values is to "Be You". We’re not just creating a workplace; we’re focused on creating an environment where everyone can thrive, regardless of gender, ethnicity, or background. We believe in uniting the best minds, embracing diverse perspectives, and championing change from the top to create a legacy in the regions we serve."
In 2025, Pennon’s Board and Executive Leadership team has continued to improve gender representation, further enhancing the Company’s reputation as a role model for other businesses striving to build a more equitable workplace. As the Company moves forward, its commitment to diversity and inclusion will remain central to its values and strategy.
